The Cooks of St. Anne's
The cooks of St. Anne’s raise Soup Kitchen funds with Cookbook sales
435 books sold in just 3 weeks!
When our Community Activities Committee challenged member Belinda Morrissette to coordinate a team of employees to create and sell a cookbook with proceeds to benefit local area soup kitchens, Belinda accepted the dare as “a piece of cake.” And, the results were truly delectable!
Over several months, more than 275 recipes were contributed by employees, members and supporting vendors. The completed cookbook was simply titled” Recipes to Make A Difference.”
The books were available for sale at all St. Anne's branches and loan centers, and in just three weeks, over 435 cookbooks were sold. Proceeds from the sale, along with a $500 donation from the Credit Union, were divided between the Fall River Food Pantry and The Shepard’s Pantry in Acushnet. Each organization received $879 to assist in providing food to families in their communities.
The Committee would like to thank everyone who participated in this successful event, especially Credit Union members Ethel Schwartz and Kathleen Bell, who contributed the most recipes among our membership.
