St. Anne's lends a helping hand

In the spirit of the holidays, St. Anne’s Credit Union employees came together to lend a helping hand at the Sacred Heart Parish Soup Kitchen of Fall River. Liz Carreiro, President Avenue Branch Manager, an active parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, coordinated the event, which took place on Monday, December 14, 2009. Employees volunteered their time to help serve food as well as help distribute food items in the food pantry. Together with a credit union member who wished to remain anonymous, St. Anne’s Community Activity Committee donated a total of $300.00 to the soup kitchen. This donation helped provide the nourishing meal, which Ms Carreiro and 17 other employees served at the Sacred Heart location.

In addition St. Anne’s employees helped to distribute food to an overwhelming number of needy community members at the Sacred Heart Food Pantry.
