Employees participate in the Credit for Life Fair

St. Anne's Credit Union employees participated in the Credit for Life Fair at B.M.C. Durfee High School in Fall River on April 8, 2010. The Credit for Life Fair provided students in the Junior Class an opportunity to take part in an interactive financial literacy exercise covering the basics of budgeting and managing credit. St. Anne's employees acted as "credit counselors" at the event. As credit counselors, SACU employees discussed the budgeting decisions that the students made throughout the course of the Fair and provided the students with advice and guidance regarding their choices.

Tracy Paiva, St. Anne’s CRA Committee chairperson, stated that as "credit counselors" we found it a very rewarding experience to help the students work through decisions that in a few years will be very relevant in their lives. As a whole we were very impressed with the decisions that the students made. The students took the event very seriously and made mature decisions which we feel will benefit them in the future.
